Tampa, FL – Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture & the Arts (TBBCA) will host its sixth annual Chalk Walk art festival March 14-16 at Hyde Park Village in Tampa. Over 40 chalk and plein air artists will cover village sidewalks with original works of art and compete for $3,000 in cash prizes.

Chalk Walk is a free community event with family-friendly entertainment. The three-day festival will include live entertainment, food trucks, craft beer and wine, an open air market, children’s activities and a strolling artist gallery.

“The TBBCA is proud to offer such a fun and accessible art festival for our community,” says Jennifer Douglas, executive director of TBBCA. “Chalk Walk has been a true success story for our organization. The festival has provided us with a great opportunity to support local artists while driving new business to area retailers. It’s a terrific example of how business/arts partnerships are making a difference.”

Entertainment at Chalk Walk has been amped up for the St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Friday night will kick the festival off with the St. pARTy’s Day happy hour, featuring craft beer and wine specials and live Irish music by Paddy O’Furniture. The fun will continue on Saturday and Sunday with the addition of the Kids’ Chalk Alley, sponsored by Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine; classic rock and acoustic performances by the Grey Beard Band and Ted Wray; dance by The Brandon Ballet and Ms. Lisa’s Dance; and appearances by the amazing Busch Gardens stilt walkers.

For the first time, a strolling art gallery will be available, featuring original artworks for sale by Chalk Walk participating artists. Guests can stroll the village and view the artwork at participating stores and restaurants.
