TAMPA, Fla. (February 16, 2018) – Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture & the Arts “TBBCA” 2018 Charlie Hounchell Art Stars Scholarships applications are due mailed/postmarked by Friday, February 23rd. TBBCA will award $15,000+ in six or more competitive talent and merit based fine and performing arts scholarships of $2500 each in Theatre, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Dance, Literary Arts, and Visual Arts, to Tampa Bay area high school juniors and seniors, helping fund their higher education in the arts. Since this cornerstone TBBCA program in support of arts education and young artists was founded in 2008 by TBBCA Past President, the late Charlie Hounchell, TBBCA has awarded financial assistance for higher education tuition to more than 60 Tampa Bay area students who are some of the most promising and talented young artists and performers in the nation. Qualified students may apply in one, more, or all disciplines, via separate applications for each category. There is no fee to apply. Scholarship awards are applied directly towards tuition expenses at the winner’s selected college, university or professional training program.
