The TBBCA honors six Bay Area students with The Charlie Hounchell Art Stars Scholarship.
On May 9th, six students were honored at a special reception held at Cox Media Group's Performance Theatre in St. Petersburg. Each winner received a scholarship of $2,500 that can be used towards tuition at the university, college or professional arts training program of their choice. Scholarships were awarded for merit in the following categories: visual art, dance, theatre, instrumental and vocal music and literary arts.
The scholarship fund, previously named the High School Art Stars Scholarship, has been renamed to honor the TBBCA's former President and the program's founder, Charlie Hounchell, who passed away unexpectedly earlier this year.
